Every day brings about a change. We never know what kind of obstacles, traps, harm and danger seen and unseen that we may encounter. Nevertheless, we continue about our daily business whether, it’s going to work, school, church, the mall running errands, picking up the dry cleaning, getting a pedicure and manicure, going to the beauty shop or whatever you have planned for that particular day.
In fact, if we are not careful we can take life for granted by thinking that we are invincible and/or exempt from trouble. There is so much going on in this world today that people have become heartless, disrespectful, lack of compassion, cold-hearted, and they do not value life. Matthew 24:12 reads, “And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.”
But, yet we ignore the cry, the pain, the hurt and the agony of the souls that are longing for love. Someone needs you! They need you to wrap your arms around them, smile, and show them a way of escape from the trap of the enemy. God spared you so you can help someone else. Has it ever occurred to you that God spared you for a reason? Matthew 22:14 reads, “For many are called, but few are chosen.
I remember one particular Monday; I was on my way to church and I decided to stop at the store. When I pulled up, I noticed three teenage males and one teenage female standing on the side of the store. As I was leaving out of the store the female said, “Ma’am, they are getting ready to rob you.” I was shocked, but at the same time I began to thank God for his divine protection. Psalm 27:3 reads, “Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident. He spared me for a reason!
We never know what kind of traps that the enemy has laid before us. He’s devising a plan everyday trying to destroy you. Saint Lukes 22:31 reads, “And the Lord said, Simon, Simon, behold Satan hath desired to have you, that he may sift you as wheat." It is imperative that we stay connected with God and allow him to lead and guide us. There are so many people that are lost and need to know that Jesus cares. I Corinthians 15:19 reads, “If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.”
It is the believers’ responsibility to share the good news about Jesus Christ. Because he loved us so much he died for us while we were yet in our sins. Why do you think he spared you? Did he spare you because you are pretty? Did he spare you because you are tall? Did he spare you because he thought you are the best? Did he spare you because you are smart? Did he spare you because you have money? Did he spare you because you live in a big house? Did he spare you because you drive a nice car? God is never wasteful! There is a plan for your life. He spared you for a reason!
